Leap

Be glad in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven.

Luke 6:23

Ok everyone! You are always asking for more time. Now you have it. A whole extra day in this year! What are you going to do with your extra time?

Leap year is basically a way to keep the calendar in line with the Earth’s movement around the sun and we are so used to the extra day that we plod along as any other normal day. It can be a normal day but it can also be a joyous day. It is a choice that you make when you get up in the morning.

This is the day which the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

The children sing a song called Leap of Faith. These are the words of the chorus:

Jump into the action! Let’s run the race.

Believe and take a leap of faith. Strong and Courageous whatever we face.

Believe and take a leap of faith.

The very definition of leap is to jump a long way to a great height. It has been described as having a little more lightness in your step. You may not want to physically leap because of physical restraints but I challenge you to leap in your heart. Let your heart be a little lighter and if you physically can, leap. Leap for joy! The joy of the Lord is our strength. Find joy in Him today, this extra day. Fill it with love for Him and one another. Set out to purposely do what you have been intending to do.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
