Handling God's Money Part 2:Budget

Do you know where your money is going every month? Are you spending $250 a month eating out and didn’t realize that you were spending that much? Are you getting to the end of the month and realizing there isn’t enough money? Luke 14: 28-30 states “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’” This verse explains the common sense of handling money. We would never go in to building a house without first looking at the cost. But how many of us go into every month without looking at the costs associated with that month, and then ask yourself, “where did the money go?” We should first have a plan for our money and that plan is called a budget. A budget tells your money where to go and how to be used. Using a budget allows you to see where your money is going and gives you control over your money. Are you using a budget? Do you know where your money is going each month?
