Dreams are Bigger Than You

“David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in all. He had reigned over Judah from Hebron for seven years and six months, and from Jerusalem he reigned over all Israel and Judah for thirty-three years. David then led his men to Jerusalem to fight against the Jebusites, the original inhabitants of the land who were living there. The Jebusites taunted David, saying, “You’ll never get in here! Even the blind and lame could keep you out!” For the Jebusites thought they were safe. But David captured the fortress of Zion, which is now called the City of David. On the day of the attack, David said to his troops, “I hate those ‘lame’ and ‘blind’ Jebusites. Whoever attacks them should strike by going into the city through the water tunnel. ” That is the origin of the saying, “The blind and the lame may not enter the house.” So David made the fortress his home, and he called it the City of David. He extended the city, starting at the supporting terraces and working inward. And David became more and more powerful, because the Lord God of Heaven’s Armies was with him.”

2 Samuel 5:4-10 NLT

The enemy will taught you with your past Isaac was blind and Jacob was a cripple

King David was given a dream to take Jerusalem even before he was a king. Even before he had an army.

1 Samuel 17: 54

When David killed Goliath He cut off his head and took it to Jerusalem, he didn’t know how he didn’t know when but God gave him a dream to take the city of Jerusalem.

You see the jebusites had control of Jerusalem. It was a stronghold, it was fortified. But David had a dream, David made a proclamation. The same God that killed Goliath is the same God who is going to give me this city.

He was unqualified, But God gave him a dream, and on the same day he killed Goliath he ran 18 miles to the city of Jerusalem and put the head of Goliath on a spear on a hill outside the city as a statement. God gave me a dream.

David’s dream was bigger than him.

He was unsatisfied with Hebron because God had called him to Jerusalem

Don’t be satisfied with where you are if God has given you a dream.

You see David thought he was just establishing the kingdom of Israel

but 1500 years later Jesus carried a cross to a hill called Golgotha, the hill of the skull.

Historians say this is the hill where David brought Goliath’s skull.

David thought he was establishing Israel but God was establishing the kingdom of God.

Your dream is bigger than you it is time that we put our faith in Gods dreams.

Tonight, dreams are being reborn.
