Turn Away Wrath

A soft answer turneth away wrath but grievous words stir up anger. Proverbs 15:1

Gentleness will disarm the most furious, but angry words spoken will begat wrath.

Examples of turning away wrath:

  1. Aaron (Leviticus 10:16-20)

  2. Reubanites (Joshua 22:15-34)

  3. Gideon (Judges 8:1-3)

  4. Hannah (1 Samuel 1:15-17)

  5. Abigail (1 Samuel 25:23)

A gentle reply to someone who is angry or upset will pacify that person. Later on in Proverbs 20:3…It is honorable for a man to stop stirring since any fool can start a quarrel.
