Love's Banner
He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love. Song of Solomon 2:5
Every year our town gets an influx of SNOW BIRDS. Tour buses, filled with seniors come from all over the US and Canada to shop, eat, and visit our many music shows. Usually, when the bus arrives they are given a local step-on guide to assist them during their stay. As they enter a theater, the guide holds up a bright colored flag or banner to lead them to their seat.
When you book a trip or cruise, your planner gives you a booklet describing your trip: Where you are going and how you are to get there. On this journey, we call life God has given us a book to follow. It’s called a BIBLE. Read and studied daily, it will lead you in your destination. A home in Heaven. Along the way, he has given us apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to help us find our way. (Ephesians 4:11) Ever before us holding the banner of Jesus high so we can see the banner of God’s love over us. Thank you, Jesus, for the pastors and teachers you have given us.
Psalm 23:2-4 David wrote: He leads me beside the still water. He restores my soul, He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his namesake. Yea though I Walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me.
Have storm clouds crept in and clouded your vision? Jesus is still where you left him, holding his banner of love. Just return to where you left him, repent and begin to praise him. He is waiting.
What a great God we serve.
