Daily Peace in All Things (Part 1)

The Corona Virus has led to an escalation of fear, worry, panic and an uncertainty of our future. That spirit of fear has created shortages of cleaning supplies and everyday household items. The sports world I enjoy has cancelled entire seasons of play for teams of the NBA, NHL and NCAA basketball tournament. How as a follower of Jesus, do we walk this life out in this kind of setting? We walk in the peace of God.

The opposite of peace is war…and God’s desire for us is to walk in His peace!

  1. Peace comes from receiving Jesus into our hearts. Another name for Jesus from Isaiah 9:6 is Prince of Peace. Jesus lives inside me, therefore, since we are justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

  2. Peace comes from time in His Presence. The apostle John was in isolation, placed on an island separated from all…the island of Patmos (Revelation 1:9). Yet, he knew and had the peace of God as he received God’s Word to write Revelations. John knew how to get and abide in God’s presence. One of John’s most used words is “abide”. In fact, out of the 118 times that this is used in the New Testament, 60 are in John’s writings and 40 of them are in his account of the gospel.

“Abiding in praise and worship brings more peace.”
