Fear Buster

Isaiah, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit pinned one of the most encouraging truths for all generations, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 NLT)

Fear was an unknown to Adam and Eve in the paradise that God had created for them. However, when the deception of the serpent was acted on, the fall of mankind entered along with fear. The good news is even though Adam and Eve were afraid for the first time and hid from God, God knew where they were and did not leave them.

The Bible is very clear, “In this world you will have trouble.” (John 16:33 NIV). There is no getting around it. While the trouble stems from the fall of humanity, it might come as a result of your own doing or something or someone doing something to you. No matter the source this verse continues on, “But take heart!” Why, God says, “I have overcome the world.”

Troubles will come, often dragging fear along, but in these short two verses we are reminded as His children that God will not leave us. He will strengthen us. He will help us because He is the victorious God. He will hold us up with His right hand. And on top of it all, Our God has overcome the world. Talk about a fear buster—that is our God!
