Seek Out the Gifts

“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God; for no one understands, but in his spirit he speaks mysteries. But one who prophesies speaks to men for edification and exhortation and consolation. One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.”

1 Corinthians 14:1-4 NASB

The purpose of prophecy is to align what has been misaligned. God instilled His perfect blueprint for your life even before you were born.

There are times in life where the world misaligns us from our natural identity. Prophecy is meant to realign what has been messed up. Prophecy is to speak Gods Word, and to be obedient removing yourself and your perspective emotions and be trained in a way that the Word comes in perfect clarity. This is the perfect will of God that you edify, which means to build up. To exhort which means to call out or to call forth. And to comfort God uses His messengers which is you and I to build up, call forth His original plan and to give comfort only He can give. I pray we all desire to speak life into one another and grow into who God has created us to be.
