Who Jesus Is

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6). Jesus did not merely show the way to God, He said, “I am the way.” He did not merely point to the abundant life, He said, “I am the life.”

In Christianity if there is no Christ, there is no way to God, no truth about God and no life. How could Jesus make such a claim if He was only a man, but if He is who He said He is, and if He did what He said he would do, His claims are valid.

Jesus claimed to be God and to have come to earth to die for our sins. We deserve to die for our own sins, but Jesus died in our place. He who was sinless accepted the guilt of our own sin and died for us. No one else could do it, but He could and did.

Jesus became the door by which sinful people can approach the Father.

Jesus is what He is said to be. Jesus will do what He says He will do. We must each trust Him, saying, “He will be to me what He says He is and He will do to me what He promised to do.” We leave ourselves in the hands of Him who is appointed to save, that He might save us. We rest in His promise that he will do as He says He will. Whatever the dangers, difficulties, whatever the darkness and depression, whatever the sickness and sins, whoever confesses with mouth and believes that Jesus is Lord, will be saved. (Romans 10:9)
