Stop Look and Listen

I grew up hearing those words. Everytime I would cross a road or parking lot I would hear my momma say, “Step, Look and Listen.” I have carried that into my adult years with my own children and grandchildren. God is saying the same thing to us. We pray and ask God for good things, all the while we go, go, go!

The Bible says in 1 Samuel 12:16, “Now therefore stand and see the great things which the Lord will do before your eyes.” “Stop”. Sometimes we need to slow down to see what is happening around us. We need to make sure we are not waking into danger. “Look”. See the great things that God is doing in our lives. The Bible says in Psalms 34:8, “O taste and SEE that the Lord is good.” We have to “look” to see.

Next, we must “Listen”. God said in James 1:19, “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to HEAR, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” Be careful not to let our tongue get ahead of our thoughts. If we think about what God is telling us he will give us the words to say. Be safe today. Help save someone’s life! STOP, LOOK and LISTEN.
