Be Humble and See What God Does
In God’s Word from the Old Testament to the new, God requires His people to humble themselves before Him. In all the scriptures, one thing that sticks out is that the responsibility to humble ourselves is placed upon us. James 4:10 says, “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.” In Father God’s word, God has shown us a simple, basic, and practical way to humble ourselves through fasting. King David discloses that fasting was the way that he humbled his soul…remember your soul is your mind, will and emotions.

Looking back to January’s prayer and fasting challenge, I’ve really seen the benefits from it. In Leviticus 16:29-31 God required His people to humble their souls before Him by collective fasting and so to qualify for the blessing that He wanted to provide. I feel what God is wanting to get across to us is, God has really done His part, but you and I need to do our part. I pray that you continue to pray and fast as the days draw us closer to His return.
