Be Still

When feeling overwhelmed or defeated, Psalm 46 is often scripture that reminds me to trust and place my confidence in God during times of insecurity and fear. Verse, one encourages us, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” the depiction in my mind is my shelter from danger, and when we are knocked down from the storm, He is there to strengthen us to get up and press on.

Our power to overcome the storm comes from Him and His strength. God is our help in trouble, and He is sufficient for any situation that arises. Throughout the scripture, we are offered encouragement to assist during storms. The commonly known verse is Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

The Hebrew translation of be still is, “let go. This scripture encourages us to let go of our fear, our insecurities, and our unforgiveness and walk in the river that flows with grace and mercy. Be encouraged that we have a shelter and a river that flows continually.

Walk in freedom today!
