Call to Mind

Lamentations 3:22-24

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.


“Yet this I call to mind”. Have you ever noticed that part of this verse? Often when we face tough situations time seems to stand still. Sometimes it feels like the answer will never come and if we aren’t careful our emotions begin to counsel us rather than the truth. The Word of the Lord is true, and it is the anchor when life seems to throw us in a raging sea. When you are going through heartache, loss or a situation causing pain, consider the faithfulness of the Lord in your life. What were key moments where God delivered you, healed you or provided? Remember those, meditate on those because that is the nature of our Lord. He will do it again at the appointed time. And as before, you’ll have another victory to reflect on that the Lord won on your behalf. His compassion for you is unfathomable, his love for you is never ending and his plans for you are good. Recall the victories while you wait for the next one.
