Clay Jars

2 Corinthians 4:7    We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.  This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

In my down times, I find myself enjoying the process of throwing clay on the potter's wheel.  Spinning as it might though, the clay will never become anything without the power of the potter applying His hand to mold and shape it.  This is evident in our lives in many areas.  We don't always see situations work out as our earthly thoughts would have them, but ultimately, we have the hand of our heavenly Father in every area and aspect of our lives.  The unfortunate thing is how sometimes we get caught up in what we think the outcome should be or are too limiting of our God.  Then we don't see any possible way things can turn out for our good.

Life is a process, our faith walk, our journey, all of it is a process.  We have to submit ourselves to trust in the Lord daily and have faith that he has everything planned for our benefit.  Easier said than done right?   When is the last time you laid out a plan for something.  Maybe work, building something, putting something together, whatever it is… most things have more than on step to them.  I encourage you to lay out a plan for yourself.  Look at your spiritual walk with Christ and set some steps in place to help you build toward a deeper walk with Christ.  Start with small adjustments, maybe giving up something that could be costing you time in the word, or simple waking up 5 minutes earlier to be in prayer before you start your day.  Just like the Potter and the clay jars.  There is a vision in mind and then steps put in place on how to get there.  Trust the process, stay with it, and live a deeper more fulfilling life as your walk with Christ continues to grow.

Be Blessed,

Pastor Brandon
