Combating Postmodern Criticism

The answer to combating postmodern criticism is based on the very truth revealed through scripture. When two individuals fight over an opinion, the fight never ends. Both parties build a following based on justification of interpretation. The church must hold scripture as the only source of truth. This means emphasizing the importance of sound biblical interpretation. The church must maintain its position on historical and cultural criticism. The Bible is inspired, and its truth is infallible. Love needs to be the church’s driver for holding to biblical truths. If the church maintains its steadfast position based on love for God and our love for others, the truth will prevail. In drug and alcohol rehabilitation, sin has destroyed what was once valued. The truth has prevailed without judgment invoked; sin destroys. If a disagreement on sin caused separation, the church’s steadfast love provided is a means of return when sin destroyed what they once valued. Love without compromise is required to provide a means of return for those carried away by postmodernism. Let us love like Christ without compromising Truth.

John 14:23-26

23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father’s who sent me.

25 “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
