Continuous Life
The daffodils’ appearance is one of the first signals that Spring is coming. The stems push up out of the ground, blooms soon appear and bring beauty to what was a dull landscape. But alas, the flowers drop off in a month or so, and thereafter the leaves die. It looks like the whole plant has died. Next Spring, though, they pop out of the ground again because of the life in the bulbs. It is a great cycle they go through. I enjoy their short time of showing their beauty above ground.
After our short time on earth, we will die physically also, but Jesus guarantees His believers will live again. A believers’ life is like the daffodils in that we bloom for a short time here on earth, die, and then because of our born-again spirit, we live on for another life. Our stint on earth is minuscule compared to our life for eternity.
Our Creator has a great plan for us, as well as the daffodils.
“Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” John 11:25
