Deviled Ham (Part 2)
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
They saw it with their very eyes. The man had been crazy, running around naked, strength beyond what was possible for man but here he was sitting at the feet of the man called Jesus. Look! He is clothed! He is in his right mind. But wait, who is this man called Jesus?
Jesus had certainly gotten everyone’s attention. The people realized something really big was going on with Jesus. They may not have understood what was happening, but they knew their pigs were gone and the crazy guy that everyone knew about and talked about was completely transformed. I don’t know how long the man had run around naked and insane but the Bible tells us it was a “long time”. But Jesus had come to set the captive free and destroy the works of the devil.
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? Isaiah 43:18-19
Jesus was doing a new thing in the man from Gadarenes. It was so amazing that everyone could see it. The change was obvious. The transformation was complete and totally beyond anyone’s imagination. The people in town felt threatened and became afraid. They were so overcome with fear that they asked Jesus to leave and he agreed. The man who had been healed “besought him”. He wanted to go with Jesus. This is what Jesus said:
“Return home and tell how much God has done for you.” Luke 8:39
Christ is better than whatever comes our way. His power is so amazing we should want to share it with others. He is doing a new thing in your life. Do you see it?
