We recently had a challenge in the youth group where the students had to track their phone time. Now I know this is only a small piece of the puzzle of being distracted in the world today, but honestly, it is one of the easiest things for us to spend time with. My thought for you today is what are you being distracted by?
1 Corinthians 10:13 tell us …No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Take some time to look into where you are spending your time. Is there a balance in your life? A lot of times we can be living with our time out of balance where we get so busy with the things we think are important and necessary that we quickly start cutting the time in the Word and our time in prayer out of our daily life. When this happens, we start living out of balance. Make a conscious effort this week to get our life and time back in balance and spend your time where it is not so filled with the things of world.
Can you find a show, social media, or even something as small as a window of time we can give up what we are doing and get in the Word, or spend time in prayer to focus on the Lord and draw closer to him?
Colossians 3:2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
