Enduring Correction

”My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.“

Proverbs 3:11-12 NKJV

How many times do we want to run from the LORD when we know we are about to go to the wood shed? One of the hardest assignments God has given to me is being a parent. Just like our kids we get angry when the LORD is sitting us down for a time of loving correction. What about the time He uses another believer? This can make us turn to our flesh real quick. We have a choice to make in how we respond to correction.

Verse twelve should help us to fall right into the arms of The LORD when cling to the fact that He corrects us because He loves us. That love helps us to know that we are accepted though the blood of Jesus Christ and that He made a way through His death burial and resurrection we are called sons and daughters of God.

Father, we thank you for calling us into the family of God we are thank that we are known by you and that we know that you love us throughout the times of correction and we thank you that we know it’s only for a short time and that you are forming us into your likeness,
