Proverbs 22:6 tells us “Train up a child in the way they should go; even when they are old they will not depart from it.

Helping our children to learn how to manage their money is so vital. One way that I have learned to be the most effective way to train our children God’s way is to become an M-V-P parent.

M stands for Modeling. Parents should apply these principles themselves because nothing is more effective. Children soak up what they see their parents doing like a sponge.

V stands for Verbally Communicating why they are handling money from a biblical point of view.

P stands for Practical Opportunities. Moms and Dads need to give their children opportunities to actually manage money God’s way.

God owns it all! I Chronicles 29:11 Everything in the heavens and earth is yours, Lord.

Proverbs 21:20 The wise man saves for the future, the foolish man spends whatever he gets.

A simple way to help them learn how to budget is by dividing their money into three parts…Giving, Saving and Spending

Proverbs 25:28 A person without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls.

So, Dad’s…encourage your children at an early age about some basics of finance and control.

Proverbs 3:9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your crops.
