Fellowship Can Be Broken

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30

The most peaceful, worry-free, satisfied state of mind is the one that is the presence of God. Countless times I have taken my worries and fears to God and have never once left without a peace that is above anything I could ask for or imagine. When our lives are lived according to God’s purpose, in close fellowship with Him, everything is clear and worry does not exist. However, that sweet fellowship can be broken. Not by anything God does but by our actions, choices and decisions.

I can talk all day about broken fellowship, but I think it is best we turn to God’s Word.

Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

Ephesians 5:11

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler- not even to eat with such a one. 1 Corinthians 5:11

Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18

Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. 1 John 3:4

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2

God wants nothing more than our fellowship to be restored. Billy Graham once said, “He does everything He can to wake us up and bring us to repentance.” It takes confession and repentance for our fellowship to be restored. The Bible tells us God is faithful to forgive us, all we have to do is ask. Yes, sin comes between us and God but Christ died for our sins, we need only to confess and God’s forgiveness. Don’t let the devil rejoice because you have delayed repentance. Seek him today. You will find Him.
