Find Your Joshua
Exodus 33:11 Inside the Tent of Meeting, the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Afterward Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua son of Nun, would remain behind in the Tent of Meeting.
We have a generation of young people who are in need of a Moses to follow. So many would be “Joshua’s or Caleb’s” are being tossed to and fro in the world. They want to be more, dream things they dare not say. But so often, fall prey to the temptations of this world, generational bondage, or desperation to find value in all the wrong places. That’s until Moses comes on the scene and calls them by name. The men and women who see a conflicted young person, troubled and maybe even written off. And that man or woman of God refuses to believe the false label and listens for what God has called them. Those men and women speak identity and pull wayward souls in and walk with them. The incredible thing is, when you invest in someone, they follow your lead.
Moses led Joshua right into the presence, and he lingered. He stayed behind, longing for what Moses had. Watching Moses ways, going where he went, and feeling just a breeze of the presence. Those moments of meeting caused a yearning in Joshua, and he stayed behind in the Tent of Meeting. If I could encourage you in anyway to find a Joshua, it would be now. We have kids the world is trying to label that God has called to be evangelists, preachers, missionaries. They have no idea who they are until someone with the power of God tells them and leads them to the presence of the Lord. You’ll find a generation that is desperate, and they will follow your footsteps to the Tent. When they hear you talk to the Lord, when they feel his glory…. they too will linger.
