Forgive and Forget God's Way

Have you ever had someone rub you the wrong way, maybe they treated you bad? It hurts. Sometimes in our hearts we want to be mad for a while. I have even made the statement “that’s gonna take a while for me to get over.” The Bible says, get over it! Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ forgave you.”

Aren’t you glad Jesus doesn’t stay mad at us for a while? When we say we are sorry we want Him to forgive us. Matthew 6:14 says, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, our heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Not only does He forgive, He forgets. The Bible says the He will remember then no more. God puts a lot of pressure on us to be like Him. Forgiving the way Jesus forgives may take a lot of prayer. No one ever said it was going to be easy, but when you think about what is waiting at the end of the journey, it makes it all worth it. So, let’s make sure we always forgive so we can be forgiven.
