Freedom in Tithing

Bob and I had 2 daughters, one was 2, the other anew born baby. We lived in Seminole, TX. Money was very tight about then we decided the only thing we could let go was our tithes. I know ---BAD DECISION! For 2 months we quit paying our tithes. Well, let me tell you!! WE had to replace all 4 tires on our car, our washing machine went out (diapers!!) Wow! It had to be replaced.

We both had been raised to pay tithes, so we knew better because that is crucial! So, we decided we had better start paying tithes again. OK, God, please help us! We started paying tithes FIRST and then paying everything else. You won’t believe this but we could put all we needed to pay on a list and then put everything we were being paid on the other side. It would not come out at all, but everything got paid! We are not that bad in math, but it would not work out but yet everything got paid. God is so faithful! We have not ever failed to pay our tithes to this day. That is the first check I write every month, even before all our income comes in. We trust you Jesus—You have always took such good care of us.

For where you treasure is, there you heart will be also. Matthew 6:21

Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; and do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, We have Abraham for our father; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham. The axe is already laid at the root of the trees; therefore every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Matthew 3:8-10
