Freedom to Be the Change

This month we celebrate the 4th of July, our nation’s independence from Britain and the birth of our nation. Two hundred forty-six years ago our country was created by a few men based on religious freedoms. We are a nation based on Judeo-Christian values. We have the national anthem that very few people realize has four verses. In verse 4, we hear about heaven’s rescued land. Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us as a nation, and this be our motto in God is our trust.

As we celebrate this year, it seems that our country is being torn apart at the seams. But the Bible gives us hope that we can, as Christians, play a role in the change in this country. I think of 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” We need to realize that this is a blueprint for Christians to bring this great country back to its roots in which we were founded.

Lord, today I choose to focus on the good that there is and be a vessel for change in Your Name.
