How Are You Fueling Your Body, Mind, and Soul?

Have you ever heard the saying you are what you eat? As an athlete, many times I listened to the lecture that if you fuel your body with junk, you will feel like junk. If you fuel your body with good fuel, then you will feel great and be able to compete. The same is true with our mind and soul. Suppose you are fueling your mind with junk on TV, social media, music, or any entertainment, then you will start questioning the truth. The enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy, so we must equip ourselves and fuel our minds with truth.

Why should you memorize scripture?

Matthew 4- Jesus overcame the temptation in the wilderness. The enemy tried to use part of scripture but Jesus fought back with scripture.

Psalms 119:11- I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

Ephesians 6:12-17- For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

We discuss with the youth that the enemy is sneaky and uses things of this world that sound cool or seem cool to trap us. We must protect ourselves by removing things the enemy can use as a stronghold. We are not fighting against flesh and blood but evil, so we must fuel our minds and souls with truth. Scripture clearly states that we must protect ourselves and do that by putting truth and not things of the world in front of us. Guard your heart and mind against the enemy’s tactics. Fuel yourselves with truth daily.
