Hunger and Thirst

Matthew 5:6

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled.

The truth is for me and my life, whatever I am seeking and striving for is what I end up having. Now this can be good or it can have a negative impact on my life. When I seek the Lord and do just what Jesus is teaching in this passage. I obtain just what I am seeking, and that is relationship, and more of Him. The truth is Jesus makes us a promise, makes a covenant with us. When we hunger for more of Him and thirst for His righteousness. His promise is He will fill us. The one thing that fills us when we are empty. That leads us and keeps us, is His righteousness. We can rest in the promise, that no matter how dry the world is around us the promise He makes with us outweighs even the driest places. I am so thankful for this verse and it is one that encourages me. One that promises that if I hunger and thirst for Him, He will fill the need I have.
