I Saw His Shadow

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? Hebrews 1:14

I recently had a dream from the Lord. I don’t always remember my dreams but his one I remember it all and it was very vivid to me. This is how I know that it is from the Lord. In my dream, I was walking down a road and it became very dark ahead of me. I didn’t want to walk into the darkness because of fear. I turned to go back and as I was walking; I could see my shadow in front of me. I began walking back away from the darkness. All at once, I could see a larger shadow overshadowing me. I immediately knew it was an angel from the Lord and I was filled with peace. I didn’t ever see the angel in my dream, but I saw his shadow. I said, “Well Lord you have sent an angel to protect me.” He replied, I told you I would never leave you or forsake you.”

The Lord was reassuring me that He would never leave me alone. Since my husband died, I have spent a lot of time alone. When my husband died I really questioned the Lord “why”. He impressed on me that I wasn’t going to always understand but to trust in Him. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4

The presence of the Lord is a comfort to me and is with me when I am physically alone or afraid. God covers us with his wings and I am thankful he sent the comforter of the Holy Ghost. When we pray in the Spirit, our inner man is telling God exactly what we need. We cry out and God hears us. The Holy Spirit comforts us and brings peace in times of trouble or loneliness. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever (John 14:16).
