In the Why Moments

I was listening to the radio the other day and heard the song Why God by Austin French. I had heard the song before, but the song stirred me differently.

Why God

Do we feel so alone?

Every single day

Fighting through the pain

Hoping there is hope?

I don't understand

But I understand

Why God, I need You

It's, why God, I run to Your arms

Over and over again

It's why God, I cling to Your love

And hold on for dear life

And I find, You are right by my side,

This verse of the song brought me to tears because I have often felt lonely questioning God and wanting to run in the opposite direction. I was reminded in the moments of questioning I run to the Father's arms over and over again because He is the answer every single time. In Psalms 13, David is questioning God, but in verses 5 and 6, David says, "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord's praise, for he has been good to me".

We see throughout scripture where mighty women and men question God but praise him anyway in the why moments. Our praise should come during the questions and loneliness. If we do not praise during the loneliness, the enemy's voice becomes louder, and we fall into the pit. Do not allow the enemy to cause you to question your faith because you ask God why. Pursue the Father during the why's to find your answers. I believe our most significant breakthroughs come in the why moments of life.
