Jesus is the Only Way to Heaven

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us; and we saw His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

In 2015 Billy Graham wrote, “Because the Bible is God’s inspired Word and God cannot lie, it does not contradict itself or teach falsehoods. It is in this very Scripture that Jesus is revealed.” So, it is in this scripture that we are going to find the way to Heaven. Jesus himself sets the plan before us. In the book of John chapter 13, we find Jesus and the disciples in the upper room celebrating the feast of the Passover. In the few years leading up to this time the disciples had left their families and jobs and followed Jesus. God had provided them food, clothes and opportunities for ministry. The disciples had seen many miracles and were with Jesus 24/7. They had heard God’s inspired words straight from the mouth of Jesus. This feast, this dinner would be different from the others. Jesus knew his time on earth had come to an end and even though he had shared this with the disciples they were still not expecting what would happen that night. On Jesus’ last night on earth he chose to show the disciples how much he loved them. He chose to wash their feet. Then He dismissed Judas. He told them again it was time to go and spoke of Peter’s denial. But He made promises too. He promised to prepare a place in his Father’s house.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be. And you know the way where I am going.

John 14:3-4

It was Thomas who was listening intently and had the courage to speak up. They had heard this before but it was still confusing. They were still expecting an earthly reign but Jesus spoke of Heaven. Jesus spoke of eternal life with the Father. Jesus spoke of everlasting peace and spiritual fulfillment.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way? John 14:5

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

Jesus is the way! He is the only way! But how? Admit you are a sinner because the Bible tells us all have sinned. Believe with all your heart that Jesus is God’s Son, He died on the cross for our sins, rose again after 3 days and is in Heaven preparing a place for us to join us. Confess your sin and ask forgiveness and for Jesus to be Lord of your heart and life as you commit to follow His leading and commandments. By accepting this “way” as the only way and by believing the “truth” you will have new “life” in Heaven.

So, here is the inspired Word of God showing you the way:

I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies. John 11:25

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among mankind by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12

I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9

Rejoice! You know the Way!
