Jesus is the Reason

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16

John 3:16 is probably the most familiar verse to believers and non-believers. I love that it explains who God is. His nature is to love and to give. Christmas is a great time to show others His love. However, it’s very easy to give only to our own and lavish love only to our own sphere.

As a mother, I get excited to give my kids gifts and to see their expressions of surprise on Christmas morning. I also remember as a kid being so excited to tell my grandparents, parents and of course Santa, what I wanted. I don’t believe there is anything wrong with this, but I also want my kids to learn the blessing of giving. The word says, “it’s more blessed to give than to receive,” and they need to see this verse in action.

I encourage us to share Jesus to others by giving and showing His love. It doesn’t have to be some grand gesture and it can also be done anonymously so He receives all the glory and you receive the blessing of giving. The Lord has been so good to us and we are a blessed people being children of God. Give and Love others as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our Savior this Christmas season.
