Just a Man

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.” James 5:17 NASB

I love this verse for a simple reason, it says “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours...” according to this word he’s a person like anyone else. Yet we see him walk in a life full of supernatural power. This tells us a lot, it’s available for all who are willing to press in and take hold of the word by faith.

He was JUST a man. A man who believed God, abandoned it all, ran after God, faced adversity, obeyed....obeyed.... obeyed. Friend what would happen if Jesus became our all? Not our afterthought, before bed prayer, in time of need.... But our all?

When we devote ourselves to prayer and reading and we step out and obey the Holy Spirit will back up His word every time. The world around us would be taken and subdued by the kingdom of God and Heaven would be manifest on earth. That’s what it is to walk in the “power and strength of his might”. We don’t have to wish to be like any great man or woman of old, scripture tells us they were just people! People who gave God EVERYTHING.

Be you, fully surrendered to God devoted to His word and intercession and watch what He will do.
