John 10:27-28 King James Version (KJV)

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

My 5 year-old daughter Aria handed me quite a lesson this weekend while at SDC. We went to the cave there at the park and she was afraid. Despite that she did a great job made it to the end and I was telling her how proud I was. I asked her, “what changed? How did you do it?” She smiled and said, “I listened to Jesus’ voice, and fear is a liar.”

I wasn’t expecting that, and my mind began to consider how profound that simple statement was. The fear was real to her but she followed her Master’s voice and His reality became her victory.

I wondered how many victories lay on the other side of a shaky step of trust with the Father leading the way? We know the outcome of partnering with a lie is destruction every time. What we don’t consider is the amazing promise that lies on the other side of choosing the truth the Master speaks. As Aria said so simply... “listen to Jesus.”
