Our Mind

I’m sure you’ve heard it said, “Whatever crosses their mind comes right out of their mouth.” I’ve said it, you’ve said it and we’ve all heard it. In the third chapter of James He says that man can tame every kind of beast and birds and things but the tongue no man can tame. But something has to feed information to the tongue. The tongue can do much good or much damage, but it has to have information and that’s where the mind comes into play. The mind is probably our biggest enemy. Most of the time it dictates our mood, good or bad and it feeds information our tongue can put out—helpful or harmful.

2 Corinthians says we are to take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ. Gaining control over what you think of yourself and life. Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on things that are true, honest, just, lovely, virtuous and praise. So even though the tongue cannot be tamed, if we keep our minds on things that are good and pure, the tongue will have less harmful and hateful information to put out.

Throughout this day, think about the fact that God woke you up and will provide for you what you need. All because He loves you and has a plan for you. Smile, speak kindly to those around you, even if they don’t act right sometimes and see how much better your day will go.

Have a brighter day and God Bless—

Stixx
