Peace Within
Colossians 3:16-17 “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
With everything going on in Israel, Ukraine and the world in general it’s easy to forget that we were called to have peace within. Despite unrest around us, Christ has given us the gift of assurance in Him. His message, His word is full of promises to us that remind us of His faithfulness, protection, unmatched might and love towards His children. When we truly dwell in the place of truth, it in turn, dwells in us and produces the fruit of peace. In addition to that abiding rest, we are instructed to consider and express thankful gratitude to the Lord. It’s really hard to live in worry and turmoil while you’re blessing the Lord with your mouth, joyfully singing of His goodness in a place of thankful. While you may start from a place of unrest, you’ll find the truth coupled with a grateful spirit will push out deception as the truth brings a covering of peace over your heart and mind. So, as I encourage myself, I invite you to cling to this verse and put it into practice and embody who you were called to be.
