Power in His Presence Part 2

And he must needs go through Samaria.  John 4:4

I have really been “stuck” on this verse lately.  I often tell my grandkids; there is a difference between wants and needs.  If there is a hard choice to be made, the wants are going to win every time.  The needs are necessary and would be detrimental if not done.  The wants on the other hand are things we could live without but would just really like to have.  We are quick to say that God sees us and knows our needs.  Matthew 6:8 says, Jesus knows what you need even before you ask.  Philippians 4:19 is another verse we quote often, God will supply all your needs.  We are right to gain strength and comfort form God’s Word.  But I have never been so overwhelmed by the personalness of God’s purpose as in the words from verse 4.  Jesus needed to go.  He had a divine appoint with an open heart that was looking for the Messiah.  This woman’s story is amazing.  The thing we don’t always understand is that our story is amazing too.  God values each of us enough to actively seek us.  He welcomes us into his Presence and desires an intimate relationship of communication.  He rejoices in our worship and smiles upon our hearts when they turn toward Him.  Have you had your divine appointment with Him yet?  Have you responded to His call?  Do you have a need?  He is waiting.

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.  Isaiah 12:3
