Pursuing Christ

“Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.”

Philippians 3:12 NKJV

First Paul wants us to see that spiritual maturity is a pursuit not a destination. If Apostle Paul hadn’t arrived, how can we think that we have arrived?

We all have something we are pursuing.

The question is what is that we are running towards?  Are we chasing after personal achievements or some agenda that we have created? Or are we chasing after Christ with all we got?

In the last part of this verse Paul gives us the fuel we need to run this with longevity.  Paul says I lay hold of the things of Christ because He lays hold of me.

Do you remember the day Jesus Christ laid hold of you? We have to always be in reflection that Jesus Christ got hold of us and began this work of bringing us into His likeness.

Let’s be the fuel that keeps your fire burning for Christ!
