Revive and Be Used

Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.  Acts 3:19 (NASB)

If we are wanting revival the first step is to give renewed attention or interest to our relationship with God.  One of the purposes of this fast is to awaken a new and greater hunger for the things of God.  Spending time in His presence instead of the table will touch our hearts and deepen our understanding of His grace.   Revival is the improvement in the condition of something (our walk with God).

I read one time that if you want revival draw a circle around where you are standing. Inside this circle is where revival begins.  We must be faithful and sincere in our desire to see revival.  God has the ultimate power to bring revival, but we must be ready to receive Him.  Revival brings a renewed sense of God’s presence, it finds us in awe once again of his power and holiness.  Revival doesn’t stop where it started, in our little circle.  Revival brings an urgency to tell others about salvation.  It spills out of us and into the church.  Then it spills from the church to our community and the world.  True revival makes history.

People need spiritual examples today.  I am surprised by how many have not been raised in church.  They are void of spiritual examples and experiences to draw from or lean on during dark times.  It is our job to stand in the gap.  If we don’t share what we have with them, who will?  Pastor Sam admonished us to step up and be used by God.  Step into His plan for your life to be a spiritual father or mother to someone.  Our age, popularity or job description doesn’t factor into this assignment from God.

Let this be a time of refreshing and renewal.  Let God’s presence fill you to overflowing. Understand the magnitude of His grace, strengthen your walk with Him and live in His power alone.  Let God revive you and then step out and let Him use you.

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.  Psalm 40:3
