Saints Don't Slander

Matthew 12:36 [TPT] You can be sure of this: when the day of judgment comes, everyone will be held accountable for every careless word he has spoken.

Psalm 101:5 [NASB] Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; I will not endure one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart.

James 4:11 [NIV] Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it.

1 Corinthians 1:10 [NLT] I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.

There is power in agreement, even if it’s an unholy agenda. What would happen if the church was in agreement? If the church ever got on the same page, we would be unstoppable. There are numerous scriptures regarding the Lord’s distain of slander. Words carry substance, they are substantive in nature.

James 3, the chapter talks about the power of the tongue, it can be a deadly force and also has the power to determine the direction of your life. It’s like the bit in a horse’s mouth and the rudder on a ship and determines a direction. It has the power of blessing, and the curse with enough power to fulfill the mission it was sent to do.

God commands us to speak life, not death! His Word says everyone will be held accountable for every careless word we have spoken. [Mat.12:36] God help me, how about you? Selah.
