Say the Name of Jesus

What is the key to unlocking heaven’s gates to eternal life? The writer of the Acts 4:12 gives us the answer when speaking of Jesus, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Jesus, the most powerful name in the universe. And to think that we as His disciples have the priviledge to call on the name of Jesus anytime, anywhere, for anything. Jesus, what a beautiful name.

A song entitled “Say the Name” speaks to the a few of many facets we have as we say the name of Jesus. Here are some of the lyrics:

Say the name of Jesus, say the name of Jesus

Say the name of Jesus, no other name I know

That can calm your fears, and dry your tears

And wipe away your pain:

When you don’t know what else to pray

When you don’t know what else to say

Say the name

Jesus, Jesus

Jesus, Jesus

Jesus, Jesus

Jesus, Jesus…….

Matthew 1:21 tells us that the baby born in Bethlehem was to be named Jesus. Going back from Hebrew and Aramaic, Jesus’ name translates into “Yeshua”, meaning “rescue,” “deliver”, or “save.” That name is much more than a 911 call on steroids. Jesus’ name encompasses everything we need: our rock, strong tower, healer of body, soul and mind, comforter, deliverer, ever present help in time of trouble, a friend that sticks closer than a brother, peace speaker, a name that every knee will bow down to…..and so much more. Say, the name of Jesus. Jesus is waiting for you to believe he is your salvation, your deliverer with a rescue mission that will not fail. Call on Him, Jesus will answer. Say the beautiful name of Jesus and heaven responds. Just think the arsnel of heaven is waiting for you just to say the name of Jesus.
