Speak the Word

Believing God and His word is wonderful. But Jesus urged us to do one more thing: to speak the word of faith, to verbalize what we are seeking from God. Such a believer — who understands the power of speaking the Word of God with boldness and faith — "shall have whatsoever he says".

Mark 11:22-23, NKJV...Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

Jesus obviously was not intending for His disciples literally to be tossing mountains into the sea. Can you imagine the chaos! Earthquakes, tsunamis, and more. But we all face “mountains” in our lives — obstacles, relational breakdowns, illnesses, and other seemingly insurmountable barriers. But take hope! Faith can move mountains, and the Scriptures give us 3 simple keys to developing mountain-moving faith. Here they are.

(1) Have faith in God [vs. 22] — faith in His Word and in the promises of God, faith in His Son Jesus. It’s not “faith in faith” or in memorized formulas that gets results, but faith in God.

(2) Believe in your heart, without doubting.

(3) And say with your mouth what you believe. Speak the Word of God out loud.

Believe in your heart and say with your mouth. Believing God and His Word is having a miracle in your mouth looking for the opportunity to be spoken into existence. Jesus encourages us to say aloud, what we are believing God for. There is great power in the spoken word of faith.

Father, build in me the confidence to approach You and ask anything according to Your will to believe in my heart that You hear me. Give me greater faith to know that whatever I ask - I know that I have what I asked of You. In Jesus name, amen. 1 John 5:14-15
