Take a City

Some of us are old enough to remember the old television commercial about the Nestle Quick Chocolate bunny. He loved chocolate milk. The problem was he had no patience. He would mix up the milk and drink it all down at once. The ad said that “patience was a virtue”.

The definition of virtue is a quality considered desirable in a person, morally good. The Bible says in Proverbs 16:32 that “He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty.” Better than a warrior. Sometimes that is hard to do because we really love the chocolate milk!

A man who shows patience or is slow to anger is better than a warrior. A warrior who can take a city. What a great expectation God has for us. The Bible says that sometimes we need to just be still and know that he is God. He is in control. I guess I have to admit that patience has not always been my virtue. I can say that I am a work in progress. He’s still working on me!

Is He still working on you? Slow down! Take a city! Look out world, here we come.
