Temple of the Holy Spirit

Read 1 Cor. 6:19.

Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,

whom you have received from God? You are not your own;

There are many directions that one could go with this scripture, however I am looking into this from the standpoint of what you put into yourself you also pour out of yourself. Now I know you don't put the Holy Spirit in you, but stay with me for a moment and you will understand my point. Our physical body has to consume food to create energy. When we eat healthy and clean food, we create a more effective energy for ourselves that sustains longer, and if we put yucky, unhealthy food in us, we are sluggish, bloated and drag around. Now this is not a health lesson as I know many of us understand this concept already. The point I want to make is what emphasis we put on things in our daily lives. We also have those things pour out of us when we are living out situations around others. If we listen to bad, inappropriate music, we will develop that type of language. If we watch inappropriate shows, we start to give the enemy a foothold into our lives. But if we put the majority of our time into our relationship with the Holy Spirit, we will see that he is more evident in the way we talk, act, and react to situations in life. The world will begin to see him more through us. As the scripture said in the beginning, we are a temple for the Holy Spirit. He dwells within us, and if we invest in this relationship with him, the more our ability to let him use us becomes evident to the world around us. What we put in us, is what comes out.

Be Blessed,
