The Heart Speaks

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”

Luke 6:45 NKJV

The rule in society is you can measure a man by what he says. If he lies, he is a liar. If he boasts in himself he is prideful. If he slanders, then he is out to destroy others to make himself look greater. The same can be said by those who bless, love, show mercy, and build others up in love. What is on the inside shows itself on the outside. For myself, I want those who hear the words I say walk away feeling loved. To know that Jesus has absolute rule in my life. That the flesh is under his control. The passage of scripture that sends us a clear message is

“If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.”

James 1:26 NKJV

I want to keep my flesh under His control and through this the Heart of Jesus is seen through the words of my mouth.
