THE JAIL BREAK

”But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.“

Galatians 3:22 NKJV

I was thinking about a prison in Jefferson City that most people call The Walls. This prison sits on 47 acres with massive walls and armed guards thousands upon thousands of yards of some of the most dangerous razor wire known to man. This place was known to house the worst of the worst criminals in the state of Missouri. This maximum-security prison Time magazine called the bloodiest 47 acres in America.

In Galatians chapter 3 Paul is making the distinction between the law and the promise. Specifically in this verse, Paul says that we are in prison by our sin that we confined. That we are completely locked up in sin, with no way to get out.  The promise, and the Messiah, The Lord Jesus Christ to all those who believe in him, would be set free from this prison. You see if we don’t understand that the law was given to show us our sinful state and the holiness of God. To make it very clear to us that we need a savior. See if we don’t understand the law and the promise, we don’t understand the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus came and fulfilled the law and humbled himself to the point of death on the cross so that we could be freed from our prison of sin.

My question to you as you’re reading this.

Have you been freed from prison of sin?

Do you believe in the promises of God?

Do you believe in the name of Jesus Christ?

Prayer- Lord I give you praise for unlocking the doors of that prison cell of sin that I lived in for 37 years that you and you alone tore down every wall that had me confined to this criminal mindset, that your word has renewed my mind that I’ve been born again. We give you praise Jesus!! Amen Amen!!
