Thermostat or Thermometer

The assignment on every believer is to be an atmosphere changer. We are to bring the kingdom of God into every room, every situation, and to every thing we come into contact with. God has called us to be thermostats, each and every one of us. We carry the Holy Spirit with us, and He works through us to do just what we are commanded to do and that is to impact the world for Jesus for His kingdom.

Just as the thermostat changes the room the thermometer only reads what temperature the room is at. It just goes along with what everyone is doing. It just goes with the flow, let’s everyone and everything else dictate the temperature. We are not meant to hang on a wall or sit on a desk and let the world dictate the direction or say what is acceptable. The sad reality is that is just what is happening. The world has its hand on the thermostat and through influence and our compromise has taken what Jesus told us to do and has weakened us through sin.

I want to share something with you, Jesus over two thousand years ago knew that the enemy would try to entrap His bride through lust. The world says porn is, ok. Jesus warned us of this two-thousand years ago. The living word of God has a warning to the church of today and makes it black and white, light and darkness.

“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are healthy, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are unhealthy, your body also is full of darkness. See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be just as full of light as when a lamp shines its light on you.””

Luke 11:34-36 NIV

We are called to bring heaven to earth, not sin to heaven. We are called to change our atmosphere, change our communities, and change our nation. This only happens when we become the thermostat and to do that we must be healthy. This starts by what we but in front of our eyes.
