Unfailing Love

As we begin the month of February, a lot of our focus is on love. Some are looking forward to that long needed date night while others feel the emptiness of past love. We all have experienced love in some form or fashion. There are many different ways that love is expressed, and love is defined in many different ways. The love a parent has for a child, the romance of two falling madly in love, the love of true friendship. All have meaning and all have a profound impact on our wellbeing.

The majority of us have experienced love that has failed. That teenage fling or the relationship that fell out of love leaving us to pick up the pieces of our heart. We think we know love, but I venture to say that our view of love is viewed through the lens of failed love. God is love, and His version is without fear or defect. His love is constantly demonstrated through scripture and we cannot begin to understand the love that He has for us. One passage of scripture that speaks of His unfailing love is found in

Ps 119:41 “May your unfailing love come to me, Lord, your salvation, according to your promise; then I can answer anyone who taunts me, for I trust in your word.”

God’s love will never leave you or forsake you. So, as we begin this month let us focus our attention to the love our Heavenly Father covers us in.

Romans 8:39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
