Unforgiveness Operates in the Realm of Sin

Unforgiveness operates in the realm of sin and leads to a path of destruction. Unforgiveness leads to bitterness that consumes you and steals your joy.

See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many. Hebrews 12:15

We are warned in Hebrews that bitterness roots cause trouble and defile not a few but MANY. Bitterness is the root of unforgiveness, and it leads to guilt, blocks blessings, hinders our prayers, and can spread quickly if not addressed. The term “root of bitterness” is deep-seated unforgiveness that causes resentment in one’s heart and it causes trouble in your life. Bitterness in your heart is unfit to approach God in prayer, so do not walk with unforgiveness.

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Matthew 6:14-15

Unforgiveness operates in the realm of sin, and if we do not forgive others, then the Father will not forgive our sins. We cannot walk around with bitterness, allowing the enemy to steal our joy and kill our walk with the Lord. If you are struggling with forgiving someone, give it to the Lord and offer forgiveness to that person so that you can walk in FREEDOM.
