Victory in Jesus
Do you know that you have the ability to resist the enemy?
James 4:7 tells us, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Our submission to the Lord gives us the ability to resist the enemy. You see when we submit to God we are in His camp. We are trusting in the One that has sovereign authority over everything. My identity is in who I belong to. I belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. He gives me the ability to resist the schemes of the enemy and put on the robe of righteousness. My submission puts me in right standing with My Father and places me under His protective covering. I’m walking in the blessings of my Father. Does this mean that the enemy isn’t coming for me? Absolutely not! He’s coming but he was defeated years ago on an old rugged cross and the evidence is an empty tomb. We can stand in the shadow of His mercy and trust that regardless of the outlook we are victorious in Christ.
1 John 5:4 tells us, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” Our faith is not in our abilities but in the faithfulness of God.
