Walking in Freedom

“I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever. I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments.” - Psalm 119:44-45.

Our lives reflect the freedom found in Christ. How we serve others, give compassion, and live are evidence of our transformation in Christ. We are no longer bound by the sin that held us. By obeying the instructions found in the Word of God we live in liberty and testify to the freedom found in Christ.

Matthew 5:16 tells us to, “Let your life shine so before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.” We are the light of the world. While our works do not save us they speak to whom we belong. Freedom in Christ has instilled in us a confidence that replaces doubt with faith. This confidence motivates us to tell the world about Jesus. I want everyone to see Jesus in me. I struggled for many years from the bondage of sin. I tried everything to find relief from its effects. Nothing worked, relieved my hurt, or healed my broken life. Then Jesus found me, lost with no hope. In Christ, I found freedom from the bonds of my sin.

The truth of the Word makes us free. The story of Christ’s love for us is written in its pages. Are you living that truth today? Are you walking in the freedom His love offers? John 8:36 says, “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.” John goes on in verse 36 to tell us, “If the Son makes you free, you shall be free.” Christ is the truth and in Him is found complete freedom. I hope you are living in the victory of this freedom. It is available to all who will receive it.
